Default "Chaos Axe Connundrum"

I got ahold of a chaos axe from some guy who grouped with me for 300 gold. Now, granted, it has max damage, and it looks really neato and all that jazz, but I was curious if there is something like this on swords, hammers, or bows as well?

I also dyed the damn thing red, so it looks killer now

There's also eternal bows which look the same as the bows the ghosts wield.

Stormbows, Eternal Bows, Eternal Shields, and Fiery Dragon Swords are somewhat like that, but you can't dye them different colors like a Chaos Axe.

I'd love a set of chaos weapons (that look like the chaos axe), fiery weapons (that look like the dragon sword), ice weapons (that look like a popsicle and emit a mist and every time they hit, ice explodes from the weapon), air weapons (that look like they're made from a bunch of swirling air), earth weapons (that look like stone or have plants growing off them or something) and dark weapons (which look like they have a dark aura around them as if the weapon is shaped out of a black hole and light seems to bend into it).

They would do respective damage type as well :>

Actually on top of that, It'd be nice to see some more variety in the mods. Such as having less then max damage bows, but it's a tradoff for some extra energy or something. And a bit more that max damage bows, but it's less hp or energy or an attribute or something.

That goes with the rest of the weapons too, sort of like the limited variety in focus items, but more.

For the past 3 days(ever since SS of the new patch came out) thinking of item modifiers reminds me of diablo 2. Off topic, but just wondering if many here are sharing my anticipation of the 1.11 patch :s

I finished the game at the weekend using a R/N (well pure R really), and although I have max damage bows, I used four different ones dealing different types of damage instead. Was I mistaken but do you *really* need max damage or is it just a misguided fascination that everyone seems to have?

Although most of the responses helped, the tail end of this thread has been hijacked by the off topic jihadists

You do if you want... max damage.

Ex. A quickshot build can shoot 1.5 arrows a second, that's 3 every 2 seconds. Over 10 seconds, a max damage bow will do 323 damage, while a 10-20 damage one will do 225 damage. Most ranger marksmanship builds are about pumping as much damage possible into your arrows.

I kinda like Piercing Axes because I like to imagine dropping a pick axe into someone's skull. And no, I did not torture bugs as a child.

There are Eternal Bows, Stormbows, (not available for players) Eternal Swords (the ghostly hero has one), and Eternal Shields, but Chaos Axes are the only ones that dye well.

do shadow swords still exist? i haven't seen one since release. they used to be my favorite (for those who don't know, it looks kinda life a leafblade shape, it's black, it's sized somewhere between long and shortsword, and it's made up of 2 different blades that make up one fluent shape.
